Philippine Economy: Uplifts in times of Crisis

Western countries faced the downfall of their business and financial stability for almost 2 years now. As what U.S. President Barrack Obama has promised, the global financial crisis will soon come to an end by the year 2011, which is closely next year. The results of these events made the U.S. Dollar to fluctuate it's value against other currencies that made other countries to float from their sinking economy.

In the Philippines, the global financial crisis has a big impact for most Filipino businessmen. Through which some businesses were closed especially the export industry whose backbone is exporting goods in some parts of Europe and The United States. One example is the furniture business that faced tough option to sell their export quality furnishes locally due to the low number of orders abroad.

Outsourcing has also been affected with this crisis that made some companies sold their shares to well established companies or even merge as one company just to sustain stability towards their clients and it's people. Another great example is the B.P.O. or Business Process Outsourcing industry that comprises of most call centers in the Philippines. As these businesses flocked the country since the year 2000, it created numerous jobs for Filipinos and big revenue as well for our economy.

As the peak of the crisis continued in 2008-2009, it never made these businesses falter, instead it gave more opportunities for the country to invite new investors since Philippines has it's strategic location, advanced technology, and manpower that is skilled and is able to communicate well versed English which is the main advantage of Filipinos to other Asian countries.

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) was once affected by these crisis, yet not a reason for remittances to decrease. Filipinos working in London, U.S., Dubai, Japan and other countries, were given financial assistance or even went back home to start a small income business. As time passes by, they were given again the chance to work abroad as part of the government's initiative to retain their jobs when the crisis will be over.

data shows how OFW Remittances helped our country in terms of revenue.

At the Philippines Stock Market, the Philippine Peso (Php) continues to soar high against the U.S. Dollar, which is a good sign. But some analysts say that this is just temporary, because the United States right now starts to get up from it's long nightmare after Pres. Barrack Obama imposed new laws and payment schemes in applying for credit, loan and mortgage.

The media sector can probably say that the global financial crisis was really felt here in the Philippines but it didn't made Filipinos to falter or even give up. Instead, it was just an avenue for everybody to strive hard in order to sustain it's needs. The country faced a lot of trials and challenges that sometimes we want to surrender. The global financial crisis is still at it's peak and still existing, that we Filipinos just shrug it off and remained happy as we are.

Charge to experience

Experience is the term where individuals learn from their own actions and feelings. Whether it is good or bad, right or wrong, happy or sad it will still be part of experience.

  • Have you tried meeting your long lost friend? Or a classmate during your high school years? This is a wonderful experience, where you can have a chitchat and start reminiscing those good old days with your worst teacher or your first crush.
  • Have you been through a tough job interview? Whoa! this is a pressuring experience. Trying to answer those difficult questions that really stirs your mind to death that just make sense when you get hired.
  • How about giving advises to a close friend or helping those who are in need, have you tried it? It’s a different feeling that overwhelms the heart and mind. It is a great experience to share something in you that others don’t have.
  • Being brokenhearted? Nah! this is the restless experience. It is some kind of being rejected or left behind that results to depression or death. Mind you, its a worth while experience when you have moved on.
  • The feeling of grief is when someone passed away, whether it is from your family, a relative, a friend or someone who is special to you. It makes our hearts faint to death as well. This is a lonesome experience, for we long for someone’s presence that can never be back again.
  • Been through a winning battle? Achieved your goals in life? This is a fulfilling experience. A feeling where we see life in this world as never-ending happiness yet temporary. We achieved worldly things such as owning a house, car, a nice career, a business that earns a lot of money. Who among us doesn’t want to experience this, right?.
  • Experience the eternal joy that we only find in God. This is the supreme experience, where we encounter our creator through prayers and meditations. A one of kind feeling where hope endures forever and evil has no place to stay.

Those are just some of the experiences that we may felt at this moment. Though it may be temporary but it gives us hope on the upcoming future, in order for us to live freely, express on what we feel, and prepare for another step in our lives…

People are PEOPLE

Individuals we are, many were just seemed to be like a star. People are everywhere as we could see; YOU, THEM, SHE, HE, US, and ME are totally different from each other.

Others would see someone as to be different for they have their own opinion to say. Like the famous quote which is a TV commercial line “First impression lasts…” isn’t it true? or just a mere superficial!

How about this quote, “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover…” Does it coincide with the first one? These simple words can be express by your own understanding, yet some would just conclude you on their own at their first glance.

It’s frustrating to know that only a few can stand by its own way. People would just look at you according to what they see and hear. But basically, its their opinion if they see you as arrogant or a hypocrite in the first time. So be it in their minds! For they see also themselves as that!!!

It sound so ridiculous but it’s really true. Most of them are in so called “HIGHEST FORM OF PERSONALITY BUT AN EMPTY SHELL” or should say IDIOTS!!!

Don’t be a victim with these kind of people for they would just make you down… in other words DON’T JUST TRUST SOMEONE…

Here are some tips, to be more aware of those around you.

  • Find yourself a time to be free.
  • Understanding to others’ opinion is one way of learning.
  • Count your fingers NOT your friends.
  • Kindness is one of the best tool to be loved by everbody.
  • You are the only YOU in this world so live for the best.
  • Organize your thought and focus on what you are doing.
  • Unite with God on your own special way.
  • Cherish every moment with family and friends.
  • Help others as long as you can.
  • Everybody has the right to be themselves.
  • Share what you have, not just to be selfish.
  • Thank someone who did something good to you!
  • Encourage yourself to be you, not to be arrogant.
  • Respect others, if you wanted to be respected.
